House of Poetry launches new logo

Dubai, UAE: In the framework of its commitment to enhance the artistic value of poetry and poets, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF), in collaboration with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, revealed a new logo of its House of Poetry.

The new logo, which has been approved by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Foundation, reflects the vision of the House of Poetry to establish a world-wide poetry movement and a global platform for poetry, catering to the interests of the local and international audience.

Commenting on the new logo, H.E. Jamal Bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, said: “The new logo highlights how MBRF’s vision in the field of culture and poetry complements the vision of Dubai in the area of knowledge based developments. The launch comes as part of MBRF’s preparations to host a series cultural, literary and poetic events at the Poetry House.”

H.E. Jamal Bin Huwaireb pointed out that the House of Poetry aims to enhance the status of culture, literature and poetry in Arab societies by hosting artistic, literary and cultural events and develop the skills of Emirati poets.

“With the launch of the new logo, MBRF has activated the House of Poetry in Dubai and set the stage for it to play a greater role in the community through various initiatives and projects in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to build a knowledge-based Arab generation capable of facing the challenges in sustainable development of the Arab World,” H.E. Jamal Bin Huwaireb added.

The House of Poetry features a comprehensive library containing collections of poetry, analytical works and translations as well as a modern studio equipped with an audio library and recording equipment. It also hosts evenings of poetry, literary exhibitions and a variety of cultural events, and has become the most important hub for cultural and literary activities in Dubai.

Other features of the House of Poetry include a permanent art gallery that showcases the works of Emirati calligraphers and sculptors based on poetry, and a shaded courtyard equipped to host poetry evenings and events throughout the year. Service facilities such as a poetry café and souvenir shop are set to be opened soon.
