HMH CEO Laurent A. Voivenel Meets Top Brass from Macao
Mr Laurent A. Voivenel, CEO of HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings, met in Dubai yesterday with Mr Jackson Chang, President of Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) to explore opportunities for the group. Mr Chang is on a three-day visit to the UAE and is accompanied by senior officials including Ms Echo Chan Keng Hong, Executive Director, IPIM and Mr Thomas Ng Iok Fai, Director of External Co-operation Department, IPIM.
Mr Voivenel said, “It was wonderful to meet Mr Chang and other delegates accompanying him who expressed tremendous interest in our brands. A lot of investors are now focused on developing the mid-market hotel segment in the UAE as well as the rest of the GCC given the potential of budget hotels and the demand that exists in the absence of adequate supply. With ECOS Hotels we have got the perfect B & B budget brand and therefore, we are eager to explore and evaluate any new opportunities with Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.”
HMH offers hotel owners, developers and investors a broad spectrum of comprehensive management solutions with five distinct, yet complementary, hotel brands catering to varied market segments from budget to luxury. Its brands include The Ajman Palace, Coral Hotels & Resorts, Corp Hotels, ECOS Hotels and EWA Hotel Apartments.
Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute is the official entity responsible for promoting Macao’s trade and investment activities. Mr Chang stated, “It was a pleasure to meet Mr Voivenel and know about HMH and its signature brands. We look forward to taking our talks further and giving this business initiative a definite shape. The key objectives of our Institute are to promote external trade, attract foreign investment and develop bilateral trade and economic relationships between Macao and the rest of the world, by increasing mutual understanding and promoting economic co-operation. We strive to serve business communities, both local and overseas, by introducing potential investors and providing service and technical assistance. We have long enjoyed close economic, trade and tourism links with the UAE and wish to further strengthen our relations with the country as well as local companies”.
