As the UAE goes pink this October, so too will AXA Insurance, in support of women everywhere, fighting breast cancer!

In a step set to reinforce its commitment to the community, AXA Gulf – one of the largest non-life international insurers in the GCC – has partnered with Canadian Specialist Hospital, Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, Al Zahra Private Hospital Sharjah and Life line hospital in Abu Dhabi to launch a breast cancer awareness campaign aiming to educate women of all ages on breast cancer risks and early detection.

The campaign will encompass various outreach activities to fight breast cancer, starting with exclusive discounts of up to 30% for AXA customers on breast x-ray mammography through till the end of November at the above mentioned medical providers. Customers can get their vouchers through AXA’s website www.axa-gulf.com or AXA’s shops across the UAE (Wafi Residential Center, Jebel Ali, Sharjah City Center, Sahara Center, Delma Street Abu Dhabi, Dubai Mall and Dubai Internet City). The campaign will also be launched in all AXA shops; with employees ‘Going pink,’ and actively participating in raising funds to support breast cancer patients across the region.

In his comments, Jérôme Droesch – CEO of AXA Insurance Gulf said:

We consider this campaign crucial towards the public and are proud to team up with a leading medical provider to raise awareness, and support the cause during Breast Cancer Awareness month. We are hoping that our efforts will help spread the word and assist in combating this disease.

The Breast cancer Campaign is part of AXA’s Corporate Responsibility and is integral to the company’s commitment to equipping individuals and society at large with a better understanding about the health risks faced by them.

According to WHO, about 70 percent of breast cancer cases are not reported until they are at a very late stage in the Middle East, resulting in a high proportion of women presenting with late-stage disease. However, Dynamic public-private partnerships coupled with meaningful innovation can create a healthcare pipeline that delivers patient-centric, locally tailored solutions to address the health needs of women in the Middle East.
