Friendly neighbourhood eatery to expand on success of original Dubai Marina location with two-floor licensed outlet in heart of popular Downtown Dubai community at Emaar Hospitality’s recently relaunched Manzil property

Renowned local neighbourhood eatery Fümé, is set to open its second restaurant in the Manzil Downtown Dubai hotel in June 2015.

Fümé, a unique home-grown concept developed by Dubai-headquartered JAS Hospitality, offers uncomplicated, comfort food with an international twist, served in a distinctive vintage-inspired setting.

The 200-seat licensed restaurant will serve its award-winning menu of home cooked comfort food from the new two-storey venue, which will also feature an expansive outdoor terrace and with spectacular views of the Downtown skyline.

Like its original outlet in Pier 7, Dubai Marina, Fümé Downtown is destined to become a hub for the local business and residential community, offering exceptional value for money.

“Food nostalgia plays a huge role in our menu development; we wanted to create a casual, homely atmosphere but with a decidedly contemporary twist. The 360º menu showcases flavours from around the world in order to offer something for everyone; served in a highly individualised setting with an engaging ambience,” said Joy Ghossoub, Managing Director, JAS Group, Fümé brand owner and developer.

“Our emphasis is on social interaction, with sharing dishes being one of our many highlights. Our key aim is to create customer loyalty through a mix of quality and value – dining at Fümé is not reserved just as a ‘special’ night out, it’s an ‘every night out’ restaurant,” he added.

The restaurant’s quirky interiors, which echo the culinary blueprint, were inspired by vintage industrial-style template. This marries purposely-mismatched flatware with unique pieces of artwork and striking chandeliers made from a variety of interesting materials.

Located in Manzil Downtown Dubai, Ghossoub says that the brand’s newest incarnation will breathe new life into the local restaurant scene with cross-cultural menu inspiration coming from tales of epicurean adventures throughout Europe, North and South-East Asia.

Much of Fümé’s seafood and meat smoking is done in the restaurant itself with coconut husks used to give the barbecued meats their special flavour, and ground whiskey barrel chips creating the signature hot oak-smoked Scottish salmon’s one-of-a-kind aroma.

“Building on the importance of presenting an interactive dining experience, and echoing the success of our original Dubai Marina location, Fümé Downtown will also feature open kitchens on both floors, vintage refrigeration and much of the quirky individuality of its sister outlet,” notes Ghossoub.

The kitchen also boasts a traditional charcoal oven that can reach temperatures as high as 662ºF, searing meat almost instantly without the loss of all the flavours and aromas.
