Excellence in Regional Shipping to be celebrated at The Maritime Standard Awards

The Maritime Standard Awards (TMS Awards) 2015 is the highlight of the year for the region’s shipping and maritime industries where key decision makers from across the Middle East and Indian subcontinent come together. The high-profile annual Awards gala dinner will recognise the achievements of the industry’s most outstanding performers and reward their successes.
To be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, the 2015 TMS Awards will be held on Monday, 9 November once again at the Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. A total of 24 awards will be presented with over 800 of the industry’s elites expected to attend. TMS managing director, Trevor Pereira, says, “The event aims to acknowledge and celebrate some of the most influential companies and individuals in the shipping and maritime sectors within the region. Apart from the established list of awards successfully presented last year, there will be two new categories for Ship Manager of the Year and Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year.”
A host of leading companies from the region’s shipping and maritime and related industries have already confirmed their attendance, with the Federal Transport Authority – Land & Maritime granting endorsement to the event. The event has received tremendous support from industry giants including Abu Dhabi Ports, ADNATCO & NGSCO, ADP Marine Services, Clarkson’s Platou, DP World, DNV GL, Dubai Trading Agency (DTA), Gulf Energy Maritime PJSC, Islamic P&I Club, Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), Mercmarine Group of Companies, Milaha, Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (NKOM), Oman Shipping Company S.A.O.C, Samsara Group, Sical Logistics, Sohar Ports and Emirates Classification Society (Tasneef). The awards also has the support of regional trade associations from The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), UAE Shipping Association (UAESA), Dubai Shipping Agents Association (DSAA), Organisation of the Islamic Shipowners Association (OISA) and Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries (DCMMI).
Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al Ahmad Al-Sabah, chief executive of Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) says, “The 2014 Awards were really like a ‘who’s who’ of the region’s ports and shipping industry. It provided a great opportunity for networking as well as celebration, and I am greatly looking forward to attending this year’s event.”
