In keeping with its green credentials, Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai contributed 75 kilograms of used soap bars to ‘Soap for Hope’ programme run by Sealed Air, Diversey Care.
Commenting on the initiative, Scott Butcher, General Manager, Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai, said, “Every year hotels produce tons of solid soap waste. Our challenge is often to balance conservation of resources with needs of customers. ‘Soap for Hope’ salvages wasted soap slivers to turn them into new soap bars for communities in need. This not only eliminates waste and improves hygiene and environment but also creates new jobs. We are delighted to support this superb initiative.”
Doruk Selvi and Varun Asser, both CSR & Sustainability Leaders, UAE, said, “We are extremely grateful to Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai for extending its support to ‘Soap for Hope’ that is a novel corporate social responsibility programme. Our aim is to create shared value for communities through engagement with local businesses. Diversey Care and NGOs are working together for recycling waste into opportunity. No fossil fuels are used to recycle the soap.”
Over seven million children die each year from diseases that can be prevented with simply washing hands. So Sealed Air developed ‘Soap for Hope’ programme operated in 10 countries to help save lives while preventing waste.
