Calling all water-sport lovers and thrill seekers- the Dubai Pre-owned Boat Show 2015, located at the picturesque Dubai Creek Marina, is the place to be this coming weekend, with a raft of activities from Dragon Boat racing, Water Jet Packing, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding and various exciting features by Adventure HQ and Wild Wadi.
There will be no shortage of water-based activities, whether guests prefer to participate or be onlookers. Watch 10 teams battling their way to victory in the 500 metre Competitive Dragon Boat Team Challenge. Those looking to boost their adrenaline can also take part in the very first Stand Up Paddle race on Dubai Creek, offered by Surf House and Quiksilver or Water Jet Packing, which is guaranteed to make participants feel like they are flying.
Children and young adults looking for a thrill will not be left out. Adventure HQ will be providing a 20x8x8M Rope Quest, which comprises of six levels of a twisted net system with a 30-foot inflatable slide that allows children to explore, crawl, climb and slide as well as a trampoline that promises the best bounce in existence. Guests can also experience the famous water park Wild Wadi through a VR headset at their Virtual Reality stand.
Following a successful community clean-up campaign in 2013, which saw Dubai Golf team up with Park Hyatt Dubai to gather rubbish from the banks of the historic Dubai Creek, the two companies have participated in another joint ‘Clean-Up the World’ initiative this year as part of the preparations for the Dubai Pre-owned Boat Show 2015. During the last clean-up, 130 volunteers collected over 122 bags of rubbish from the banks of the Creek.
Held from 5-7 November, the event offers various entertainment, from a dedicated kids’ corner by Funky Monkeys, The Island that offers live entertainment and delicious live BBQ station with beverages to quench your thirst in addition to a host of food trucks from F&B village, a variety of water-based races and activity, thrills by Adventure HQ and a host of prizes to be won every day.
The show opens from 4pm to 8pm on 5th November, and between 11am to 8pm on 6th and 7th November. Activities will take place on Friday and Saturday between 1pm and 6pm. Entrance is free however some activities may be subject to a nominal fee.
