Day one of the 2nd Annual Edition of Future Drainage & Stormwater Networks Qatar conference at Intercontinental The City Doha, was held with the support of Public Works Authority ‘ASHGHAL’. This conference brought together the relevant government authorities, Project Management Consultants, General Engineering Consultants, Contractors, Sub-Contractors and materials and machinery suppliers to exchange knowledge, share best practice and most importantly shape future plans and strategies. This conference is powered by Project Qatar and partnered with IFP Qatar.

Presentations from Public Works Authority ‘ASHGHAL’, Abu Dhabi Municipality, MWH Global and Buro Happold Engineering covered informative and interesting topics in terms of drainage and Stormwater masterplanning, functionality and sustainability.

From the many organizations that were present: Abu Dhabi Municipality, Public Works Authority ‘ASHGHAL’, Qatar Foundation, Parsons International, White Young Qatar, Qatar Design Consortium and Atkins. Discussions were engaged among the participants around the opportunities and progress updates arising from the implementation of Qatar’s drainage, sewerage and stormwater networks master plan.

Solution providers presented their latest systems, equipment and solutions for drainage & Stormwater networks: PAM Saint-Gobain, Mannai Trading, Sahara Emirates, WT Burden, TopTec, International Aramoun Co., Applus Velosi and Frankische.

Day two (December 8) of the conference will give the opportunity to hear the latest about Enterprise Asset Management, established proactive maintenance regimes, emergency management practices, the reuse of treated sewage effluent, sustainable drainage systems and how to control ground water levels.
