UAE-headquartered hospitality company, TIME Hotels Management, has launched a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) website Tomorrow’s World to keep hotel guests up-to-date with TIME Hotel’s contribution towards building a responsible and sustainable business community in Dubai. The online platform was developed after TIME Hotels was awarded with the CSR Label for 2015 from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Dubai Chamber) earlier this year.

Tomorrow’s World is a collective initiative that showcases the various CSR and sustainable activities carried out by TIME Hotels that enhance well being in the workplace, marketplace, community and environment.

According to Mohamed Awadalla, CEO, TIME Hotels: “Tomorrow’s World brings together all manner of entities and local communities to ensure the world which our children will inherit is alive and well. This platform works towards ensuring, not just a better world, but a better tomorrow as well.”

As an official member of ‘Engage Dubai’, a Dubai Chamber initiative that brings together an international network of businesses and community organisations that collaborate to support the development of healthy and sustainable communities by increasing the quality and quantity of employee volunteering in their local communities, TIME Hotels sets an example on how to facilitate effective sustainable development in the wider community.

“TIME Hotels is committed to employee learning and development activities as this has proven to be an effective tool to boost staff moral and motivation by encouraging them to make a real difference in communities we operate in. It is fantastic to see our team members get behind all of our CSR activities with enthusiasm and commitment,” said Awadalla.

Extending their outreach programme beyond the UAE, TIME Hotels have partnered with Etihad Airways with a charity initiative supporting the development of the Lukiyani School in Kenya. Employees and guests are able to contribute in the form of cash donations to the project through Etihad Airways.

Health and wellness in the workplace is another cornerstone of the group’s corporate goals as the 561 Dubai-based employees attend tailor-made seminars that includes stress management, top-to-toe physical health advice and support, and nutrition counselling. In line with this, more than 80 team members walked 3.5 km in support of breast cancer research this October in Dubai that saw 300km added to the TIME Hotel’s safe and sound pledge to reach 50,000km in total.

The group has been a market leader in environmental initiatives and has partnered with Slow Food Dubai on a new community outreach project ‘The Urban Garden’, to encourage and teach people about growing their own herbs and vegetables in the challenging conditions of the UAE. Currently, 14 types of vegetables and herbs are to be found in the nursery at the TIME Hotel in Tecom.

TIME Hotels’ community outreach programme focuses on adding value to people’s lives and the community in general through a combination of cash or in-kind donations, education and employee engagement activities. Hotel guests can visit the Tomorrow’s World (http://tomorrowsworld.ae) website to find out how to donate or to volunteer their time.
