Global Student Accommodation Group (GSA),the leading provider of student accommodation worldwide, has announced the launch of ‘Uninest’ Student Residences in Dubai to meet the growing demand for dedicated student accommodation in one of the world’s fastest growing higher education hubs.
Offering the first non-campus, student residential building in Dubai, Uninest Residences will open to students studying at all universities from February 2016. Uninest is situated in Dubai and, just 10 minutes from Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), the world’s largest free zone dedicated to higher education, and 25 minutes from other major education hubs in Dubai. GSA believe that natural light, fresh air, quiet and access to technology are a student’s right and all of these are core features of the residences. Students moving into these new residences can expect much more than a place to live, but instead a living-learning community designed specifically to support them while they study. Everything about the residences has been carefully designed to maximize the happiness, comfort and success of the student residents.
In the last 12 years the United Arab Emirates has established an incredible 35 universities, with total enrolments in the country reaching over 120,000 students in 2015, of which an estimated 60,000 are in Dubai alone. The UAE now boasts the highest number of international branch campuses in the world, 26 of which are located in Dubai.
Having pioneered the purpose built student accommodation industry in the UK, GSA Group founded the private sector brand ‘Uninest’ to offer secure and high qualitystudent residences in a community environment that is attractive to both international and domestic students seeking a conducive living environment to ensure their ultimate academic success and wellbeing.
Fran Turner, Group Operations Manager for GSA Group adds,“We are delighted to be launching Uninest Student Residences in Dubai. Our focus is on providing the ultimate living environment for students to thrive academically as well as enjoy their living experience during their studies.”
“By launching the first dedicated student accommodation facility in the Emirate we are aiming to bridge the gap between the current private rental market offering and the under-supply of university campus student housing. For the first time, students studying in Dubai will have access to thededicated student living experience they would ordinarily access in the UK, USA,
Australia and other more traditional markets. We believe this will also furtherboost Dubai as aregional education hub”.
Globally, participation in higher education is forecast to grow at a staggering rate from 196 million enrolmentsin 2012 to 263 million by 2025.
“With Dubai’s growth rate of higher education participation exceeding the global average there is a critical need to meet thesupply-demand gapfaced by this growing knowledge based economy. Building on our 25 years of international experience, we have worked closely with university partners to support their growth through the key provision of dedicated, purpose-designed student accommodation of the best quality.” Turner continued.
At Uninest Student Residences, students can choose from a variety of gender-segregated accommodation options. The flexible and affordable rental options are all-inclusive of furniture, utility bills, a scheduled shuttle bus, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property. A dedicated student services team is also available 24/7 to ensure the safety and welfare of student residents. The inspirational living-learning environment comes with study rooms, I-MAC computer stations and relaxing facilities for students to enjoy including common rooms, a dining area and roof terrace with pool and gymnasium.
GSA Group has established over 60,000 student beds in its 25 years of experience worldwide through building and managing safe, secure and culturally-adapted student accommodation. As a result, residents studying full-time in Dubai and complete a study-abroad semester in Tokyo could live in GSA residences in both cities.
‘Our student residents tend to live with us for several years throughout their studies. Our residences are always buzzing with activity, inspiration and innovation and ourstudent residents enjoy living in a multi-cultural and international environment. We create the space, but they fill it with ambition.’ Fran Turner, Global Operations Manager
