The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, announced that it has made the administrative staff appointments for Dubai’s new Etihad Museum that was recently inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Among the appointments made include Abdullah Mohammed Al Falasi, Director of Etihad Museum, who will report directly to Dubai Culture. He will oversee the entire museum team of 40 employees across three sections and be supported by Khulood Al Nuaimi Manager of Project Section & Acting Manager of the Public Relations Section, Hana Saleh, Manager of Programmes and Visitor Engagement, and Mohammed Al Hebsi, Manager of the Exhibitions and Collections Section.

His Excellency Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: “We welcome the new museum team working under the leadership of Abdullah Mohammed Al Falasi, and we know that this capable team has the positive spirit necessary to deliver the museum’s core vision and mission as a dynamic cultural destination with 21st century characteristics. The new Etihad Museum team has a responsibility to help inspire citizens and visitors from around the world, and ensure that exhibits not only convey the founding story of the United Arab Emirates, but also that the status of the museum is consolidated as a reliable source of historical and national information and heritage, through its documents, pictures and private collections. The museum will be an essential destination for researchers and historians, and will provide future generations in the UAE with valuable knowledge to support their academic and social life, as well as boosting their national identity.”

Al Falasi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, and majored in International Affairs at the University of Colorado, USA. He will be responsible for managing the museum team, providing guidance and supervision to all three museum sections, and will focus upon improving the visitor experience in order to contribute towards enriching Dubai’s cultural and artistic scene and to help preserve the UAE’s national identity.

Etihad Museum focuses upon the political history and personal stories relating to the events that led to the UAE Union’s creation. Through photos, films, documents and collections that chronicle the journey from 1968 until 1974, visitors can experience the course of a critical phase in the UAE’s history.

Dubai Culture is responsible for managing and supervising all of the Emirate’s museum and heritage sites, as well as preserving their historical and cultural significance. Furthermore, the Authority oversees all of the museums’ daily operations, and the development of educational initiatives that enhance the learning experience. For this flagship UAE project, the Authority is responsible for the day-to-day management of the museum, the development of educational programmes, and the curation of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
