The snow may have melted from the slopes of St. Moritz but that doesn’t mean that visitors to the pristine Alpine resort need to wait for the return of winter to experience fun and excitement on the mountain. Opening for the season on June 23, Giardino Mountain is ready for a fit summer with a special “Mountain Speed” stay package that allows guests to quite literally hit the ground running upon arrival.

Just after the hotel reopens for the summer season, the sporting events kick off with the Engadin Bike Giro (June 30-July 2), a three-day mountain-bike race that attracts both pros and hobby cyclists to race across 140 kilometres at altitudes as high as 2,500 metres. Giardino Mountain can also provide mountain bikes for guests to use to explore the region’s wealth of cycling paths. Intrepid cyclists can conquer more than 400 kilometres of marked trails in the region that boast breathtaking mountain panoramas.

Alternatively, visitors can leave the wheels behind and take to their own two feet in runs throughout the summer. In the Triathlon St. Moritz(August 5-6), fit holidaymakers will swim in St. Moritz Lake, cycle around the neighbouring villages, and run around Staz Lake in what is likely one of the most scenic races to take part in. The Engadiner Summerlauf (August 19-20) is the next must-do event for runners in a course which winds through the mountain backcountry and features an intense climb up the Ski World Championship run.

Whether the plan is to enter the Engadiner Sommerlauf summer run or challenge yourself on various fronts with the triathlon, your legs need to be fit and your body needs to be full of energy. As a guest at Giardino Mountain, the hotel offers the ideal location to train, energise and hit the ground running amid mountain and lake scenery with the Mountain Speed offer. The package, available for three, four or seven nights, is available throughout the summer season (June 23-October 1, 2017) and includes:

  • Breakfast each day, and a starter kit
  • Shuttle service to the training stations in St. Moritz
  • Use of the dipiù Spa, including the gym, sauna and pool
  • Free participation in the hotel’s weekly programme of outdoor highlights
  • Access to the lockable bike store and materials for minor repairs
  • A selection of evening meals with the “Dine Around” half-board offer, with an invigorating three-course “athlete’s dinner” bookable for CHF 45 per person, per day
  • Daily laundry service for sportswear
  • Rates from: 3 nights in a double room @ CHF 390 per person; 4 nights in a double room @ CHF 520 per person; 7 nights in a double room @ CHF 920 per person

For both the sporting enthusiast or simply a spectator, Giardino Mountain offers the ideal base for respite from the region’s events thanks to its chic and comfortable accommodations, atmosphere of relaxed luxury that defines the brand, and exceptional dining and spa experiences – not to mention the new Ayurveda by Giardino, a vast programme of Ayurvedic cures and treatments and a unique experience in Switzerland’s five-star hotels.
