Global Village to enthrall guests with UAE National Day celebrations

To celebrate the UAE’s 47^th National Day, a host of events and festivities to enthrall and entertain guests will take place at Global Village, the world’s leading multicultural Festival Park and the region’s first family destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment. The fun is set to begin on Friday, 30th November and last until Monday, 3rd December with decorations that brighten up the whole park in the colors of the UAE flag while the pavilions will mark the occasion in their own unique way.

An exclusive Operetta – ‘Zayed: Leader of the Humans’
An exclusive event for the National Day celebrations is the Operetta – ‘Zayed: Leader of the Humans’, that will take place at the Main Stage on 1st, 2nd and 3rd December. This will be performed by a cast of more than 25 and will be a dedication to the father and founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Operetta is produced by Ornina Arts and Events and directed by Nasser Ibrahim who is well known across the region for developing some of the finest national and international shows.

A special concert by Emirati star Hamad Al Ameri
Expected to bring in huge interest from guests to its National Day celebrations, a signature event of the UAE National Day celebrations is the special concert by Emirati star Hamad Al Ameri that will take place at 9 pm on Sunday, 2nd December at the Main Stage.

UAE’s biggest gathering for National Anthem recitation
Global Village will host the UAE’s biggest gathering for National Anthem recitation this year with the participation of more than 10,000 partners and thousands of guests on 1st and 2nd December. At 9 pm on these two days, the UAE’s National Anthem will be played out loud across the park’s internal speakers and guests and partners from hundreds of nationalities are invited to participate in the recitation as a mark of unity and love for the UAE.

UAE National Anthem recitation as a token at vending machine
A key highlight and innovation of the celebrations this year is a unique and interactive vending machine that gives guests the chance to win exciting prizes by reciting the UAE National Anthem which acts as the token to win Global Village’s Gold Coins. Thousands of guests are expected to be seen singing in front of it and posting their effort on social media.

Celebration Walk, Ribbon Maze, finger painting a 5-meter wide UAE Flag and other delights
National Day celebrations do not stop at decorations and guest activities include free henna drawings and face paintings. They will be asked to participate in painting a 5-meter wide UAE flag with their finger prints to reflect their love for the UAE. They will also enjoy special moments as they walk through a Ribbon Maze decorated with thousands of ribbons in the colours of the UAE flag. The newly introduced Celebration Walk will be decorated in the UAE National Day theme and will pulsate with the colours of the UAE flag as guests enjoy its ambiance. The entire park and its main corridors will be decorated with more than 50,000 UAE flags and more than 30,000 UAE flags and shawls will be distributed to guests.

The UAE pavilion, Emirati Cultural Zone and AlSanaa pavilion
The UAE pavilion will transport its guests into another space with a ‘wedding-like’ atmosphere and entertained with various Emirati cultural shows including Ayyala, Harbiya and Razfa. Guests will be greeted with Arabic coffee and dates as they appreciate displays of some of the finest Emirati live handicraft stations.

The Emirati Cultural Zone at Global Village has gathered a wide diversity of Emirati offerings in one location. Its partners include the UAE pavilion, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation Pavilion, AlSanaa Pavilion by Ministry of Community Development, Live Our Heritage Festival by Dubai Culture, Heritage Village by Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, Creative Hands initiative and the gathering of Emirati businesses in collaboration with Dubai SME at the Cultural Gate entrance. The zone exhibits the best of Emirati culture to millions of guests including residents and tourists. AlSanaa Pavilion is a window into the world of productive Emirati families that run their home-grown businesses and will feature multiple decorations and events, especially for the occasion.

Fireworks to light up the sky
The Global Village fireworks have always been a favourite for UAE residents and tourists. For the 47^th National Day, a mega-musical fireworks display will take place on 30^thNovember as well as on 1st and 2nd December starting 9 pm.

Extended hours
Global Village welcomes its guests from 4pm until 1 am on Thursdays and Fridays. For UAE national Day celebrations, timings on Saturday and Sunday (1st and 2nd December) will also be extended until 1 am instead of closing at midnight. On Monday, 3rd December, it will be open to welcome all guests instead of it being only a family day.

All celebrations and events for UAE National Day activities at Global Village are included in the ticket price of AED 15.
