Five UAE Schools Win Education Technology Package in Promethean Grant 2019
Global education technology provider Promethean has awarded five UAE schools with an education technology package. As part of an extensive campaign promoting accessibility to technology within education, Promethean has rolled out the Promethean Grant in countries across the world, providing deserving schools with state-of-the-art technology.
The Promethean Grant launched in the UAE at the GESS exhibition in February 2019, giving schools the opportunity to submit a video entry explaining how they would benefit from winning an ActivPanel. The videos were judged on four criteria: creativity, need, student involvement, and the impact that it would have for the school. The five winners will each receive a fully-installed ActivPanel, orientation training and extensive warranty.
The five winning schools are Fairgreen International School, Ras Al Khaimah Academy, Al Ittihad National Private School, American International School of Abu Dhabi, and Al Ittihad Private School Jumeira.
Jonathon McDermott, Promethean’s Head of the Middle East & Central Asia, applauded the winning schools, saying: “Congratulations to the five schools who won the Promethean Grant. It is always brilliant to see the creativity and passion that goes into the entries, and as a company committed to education we are always inspired by the work that teachers put in. We are proud to offer the Promethean Grant and give schools in the UAE and around the world the opportunity to bring new technology to their classrooms.”
Samuel Landete, a teacher at Fairgreen International School, commented on winning the Grant: “When I found out about The Promethean Grant through our Chief Technology Officer, I realised immediately that bringing an ActivPanel to our school would be a brilliant opportunity to learn more about the potential of hardware and software in the classroom. When I was putting the video together, I wanted to show that we already have a great culture for technology at Fairgreen and that we would be able to take this even further with Promethean solutions. Of course, I am very pleased to have won and I can’t wait to start using the ActivPanel in our lessons!”
Promethean is looking forward to developing a partnership with Fairgreen and the other winning schools to help them make the most of their ActivPanel and lead the way for schools in the region looking to integrate the latest technology into their classrooms.
