Careem’s customers donated over 180,000 USD in two days through the Careem Super App
The donations will provide support to vulnerable families in the region, with cash assistance helping them cover their most basic necessities such as food, healthcare services, education, heating and housing.
On June 29th and 30th, Careem saw an influx of donations across the region as customers looked to spend their Careem REWARDS points prior to them expiring. Through the Careem Super App, customers were able to donate to a variety of charities including options to feed a child for one day, teach a child for one day, feed a child for one week and donate a textbook.
The funds which were donated by Careem customers through the Careem REWARDS program have an important impact on the everyday lives of people in need. The donations will provide support to vulnerable families in the region, with cash assistance helping them cover their most basic necessities such as food, healthcare services, education, heating and housing.
Key highlights for the donations made on June 29th and 30th included:
- Customers redeemed over 610,533,375 points amounting to over 180,000 USD in donations
- Over 28,000 USD was donated to feed a child for a day while 88,000 USD was donated to feed a child for a week
- In UAE, over 28,000 USD was donated to teach a child for a day and donate school supplies

Points generated through the Super App can be converted into credit appearing in the app’s wallet to spend on rides, food orders, partners services or to give back to your community through donations.
