Canon announces the launch of a new series of document scanners to help partners strengthen their e-tail scan portfolio and capitalise on the fast-growing hybrid working market. The R-Series, which includes the imageFORMULA R10 and imageFORMULA R40, has been specifically created for the e-tail channel. Easy purchase, installation, usability and an affordable price point combine to make these devices ideal for hybrid workers and small businesses, giving channel partners an attractive offering for this expanding opportunity.
The imageFORMULA R10 is a lightweight portable scanner, designed to help employees continue working efficiently, even while moving between workspaces. Meanwhile, the imageFORMULA R40 brings business-grade performance and intelligent features to home workers and small business owners.
“We’re seeing a rise in businesses allowing employees to work flexibly from alternative locations including their home office and while mobile. We want to provide our partners with specialised products designed to address this growing market,” says Taz Nakamasu, Executive Vice President of B2B Document Solutions at Canon Europe. “By also making business-grade technology available to buy directly and easily off the shelf, at an attractive price, we can help our partners capture this new market and drive growth through high-volume sales.”
End-to-end simplicity, to support high volume sales
The models offer easy set-up which an end-user can do independently, from home or offsite, and with the R10 model there is no need for any drivers or software installation. Customers need only to connect their device via USB and start scanning instantly, while imageFORMULA R40 users with just one click can install all necessary software to start scanning. The imageFORMULA R-Series also includes Canon’s CaptureOnTouch software, which has a new, intuitive user interface simplifying, scanning for first time users.
The imageFORMULA R40 also offers additional features to support users working without IT support. An automatic software update function ensures that software patches and updates are installed without the need for IT intervention or management, ensuring peace of mind.
Business quality, for an affordable price
While offering simple usability at a more affordable price, the imageFORMULA R-Series doesn’t compromise on quality. The new devices have been developed based on Canon’s leading scan technology, so e-tailers can continue to meet end-customer needs, even at a more attractive cost.
The imageFORMULA R40 delivers high-speed scanning at 40 pages per minute and 80 images per minute. It’s built for durability, based on 4,000 scans a day and continues to feed reliably, even when scanning a batch of mixed size documents. Inbuilt smart features make this the ideal device for efficient home workers. The imageFORMULA R40 includes Canon’s CaptureOnTouch and ReadIRIS software that have powerful Optical Character Recognition (OCR)technology allowing users to save documents to multiple formats, and create editable, searchable files, which allows the user to easily search scanned documents for keywords and make annotations.
The imageFORMULA R10 is a compact, robust device which can be easily transported. Despite its small form, it delivers 12 pages per minute, and double-sided scanning; it also has a 20-sheet feeder. It can handle a wide variety of different documents, from business cards to A4 documents, while being powered simply by USB.
“Our new devices are now simpler to buy, install and use, lowering traditional barriers to purchase for end users. In turn, this encourages higher sales volumes for the channel,” continues Taz Nakamasu. “These devices can be bought, delivered and set up by end-users the next day, empowering partners to offer e-tail the fast, easy access to the technology their customers need, wherever they are working.”
