Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi reviews global offerings, highlights of International Government Communication Forum 2023
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Media Council (SMC), reviewed all the activities and participating pavilions of the 12th annual International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2023), taking place in Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme ‘Today’s Resources… Tomorrow’s Wealth’.
At the two-day forum, organised by Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), HH Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi walked into the dedicated spaces designed for specialised workshops, discussions and events, which aim to serve different segments of society and present leading experiences and models of effective government communication to address existing and future challenges.
The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah also visited the pavilions of the various media and government entities participating in IGCF 2023, learning more about their forum agenda and specific contributions, which seek to popularise modern methods and innovations to promote agility and effectiveness of global government communication.
On this detailed tour of the forum, HH Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi was accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD); Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs; HE Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of SGMB; HE Hassan Yacoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of SMC; HE Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB, and representatives of local, Arab, and international media outlets.
IGCF 2023 brings together the experiences and expertise of more than 250 thought leaders, thinkers and experts in government communication, both at local and international levels. They will be leading over 90 main discussions, side sessions, inspiring speeches, seminars, programmes and activities on 14 stages in collaboration with 35 local, regional and international partners.
The two-day event underscores the role of government communication in managing and optimising a country’s resources, over 4 main pillars – natural resources; non-material resources of culture, arts, sports, and human capital; technology and data, the wealth of our era. The forum will also explore government communication’s role in identifying and optimising sources of future wealth.
