Dubai Culture Participates in Creative Career Days
Dubai’s Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced its participation in the second edition of the ’Creative Career Days’ organised by the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai from October 8 to 10, under the theme ‘You Can’t Have Art Without..’. Through this, the Authority aims to open new horizons for creatives and emerging talent to enhance their skills and capabilities, which aligns with Dubai’s cultural vision of positioning it as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.
On the first day, Dubai Culture will host a talk titled ‘Sikka Speaks: Interdisciplinarity Within The Broader Creative Sector’ featuring Dr. Afra Atiq, Writer and Co-Founder of United Chapters; architect and designer Omar Al Gurg, Founder of MODU Method; Manish Saini, Electrical and Electronics Engineer; and Noura Al Neyadi, Photographer and Anthropologist, Content Development Manager. They will share their creative experiences and explore how their diverse academic and professional backgrounds can contribute to the growth of creative fields, aligning with the essence of ‘Creative Career Days.’
Through its booth, Dubai Culture aims to acquaint visitors with its cultural assets, including Dubai Public Libraries, Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, and the various museums and heritage sites under its management. The booth highlights their pivotal role in disseminating knowledge, enriching intellectual and cultural activities, preserving history, and safeguarding local heritage.
Within this creative space, the booth features the work of Iraqi artist and calligrapher Uday Al Araji, who will showcase his Arabic calligraphy masterpieces created using Huawei tablets. This artistic presentation aligns with Dubai Culture’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a sustainable creative ecosystem for all art forms.
Additionally, the Authority offers up its diverse projects and programmes, with a focus on ‘Sikka Art and Design Festival’ and ‘Al Marmoom: A Film in the Desert’ festival, both of which significantly contribute to enhancing Dubai’s vibrant creative scene. Dubai Culture introduces visitors to the abundant opportunities inherent in Dubai’s cultural and creative industries, along with the available resources for entrepreneurs and creative talent.
’Creative Career Days’, the first initiative of its kind in the UAE, offers talented individuals and students the opportunity to explore a diverse range of such work paths, higher education options in arts and culture, and training, including artistic residencies.
