Driven by its endeavor to promote culture and knowledge locally, and as part of the ‘Library Days’, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is organising a special event entitled “Spaces of Writing in Virginia Woolf’s Literature” to honor the legacy of the late British author and journalist. The event will take place on 27 January at 6 PM, in conjunction with Woolf’s birthday.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library calls on literature and culture enthusiasts to participate in this event for free, and explore Woolf’s literary world. The event will delve into the depths of her thought and creativity, learn about her impact on world literature, and discuss her visions and ideas with an elite group of creators, writers, and experts.

The event features two discussion sessions in Arabic and English. In cooperation with PICK A BOOK Book Club, the first session will discuss the novel “The Waves,” which reflects the depth of Woolf’s experience and her ability to express human existence uniquely.

In the second session, Zainab Al Qaisi will discuss the book “A Room of One’s Own,” one of Woolf’s most prominent works, which sheds light on several topics such as intellectual independence and women’s social status.

To know more about the library’s events, activities, and workshops, and attend them for free, visitors can register on our official website mbrl.ae, and follow the library’s social media channels.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library plays a pivotal role in improving the cultural and literary movement in the UAE by raising awareness on global literary heritage, opening new windows to knowledge and understanding, and enhancing cultural dialogue between different cultures.
